Currently, Amy is working as the morning news anchor at WJBK FOX 2 News in Detroit, Michigan She joined WJBK FOX 2 Detroit in August 2011.
After graduating from school, Amy relocated to Colorado to work as an anchor/reporter for a small TV station on the Western Slope. She recalls looking back in her rearview mirror as she drove away from her home in metro Detroit, thinking to herself, “sometime I will be back working for FOX 2 News.”
Amy then moved to Montrose, Colorado where she worked for KREY/KREX as a news reporter. The next destination, “then” UPN affiliate KLBC TV2 in Laughlin, Nev. She moved to San Luis Obispo, California, two and a half years later to work as a reporter/anchor on KSBY 6. After a few years, Amy began to feel the “pull” of the Midwest and felt it was time to return home.
Amy took a job at WNEM TV5 in the Flint/Saginaw market. She worked her way up from weekend anchor to morning/noon anchor and co-host for the lifestyle show “Better Mid-Michigan.” After working for good three years at WNEM TV5, Amy earned an opportunity to serve at FOX 2 in 2011.
When she is not on duty empowering viewers from the anchor desk she is out in the community making a difference. Amy is heavily involved with Gleaners Community Food Bank, is an ambassador for C.A.T.C.H Children’s Charity. She also facilitated FOX 2’s media partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is very active with the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of America, Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association, and Angels of Hope.
