Arias got her big break into television news at WPRI-TV in Providence, R.I. AShe found herself covering one of New England’s biggest breaking news headlines after just a few months on the job: the Station nightclub fire in West Warwick, R.I. Arias was the first local reporter to interview a nightclub survivor live from inside the hospital after broadcasting live from the night of the blaze. Erika won an Emmy for her contribution to the station’s news coverage.
Arias then headed west to Las Vegas, where she covered the arrest of “the Ohio gunman,” the retrial of Ted Binion’s murder, and the Bellagio blackout. While in Las Vegas, she also interviewed several celebrities like Robert Redford, Nikki Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, and Kobe Bryant.
