Collin is an American Multi Emmy award-winning journalist currently working as a reporter and anchor for WCCO-TV based in Minneapolis, MN. She joined the station in 2008. Previously, Liz held producing, investigative reporting, and anchoring positions in Florida, South Dakota, Kansas, and Pennsylvania.
Liz’s stories at WCCO have helped shape Minnesota public policy. After her series about a little girl who choked to death at a Mankato daycare, it increased the conditions of daycares where it must have more trained CPR staff. Liz was inspired by her grandparents’ passion for watching the news, and she became a news fan at a young age.
When she was 10 years old, Liz launched a newspaper with her friends from her block which they sold for 15 cents. Surprisingly, her story was approved, and she was featured in the Daily Globe as well as on WCCO radio. Liz went on to join Trojan News in high school, a program that aided her foundation work greatly. When she was 15, she started working at KWOA radio in Worthington, where she ran the Twins and Vikings games on the AM side.
Liz has been working in various media houses including the KDLT-TV in Sioux Falls where she did her first on-air report and spent two years. She had also worked for a few months at CNN before being hired for a half-year as a robotic camera operator at a major NBC station.
