Previously, before he became part of the NBC family, Chesky used to work at KOMO-TV as a weekday evening anchor, where he spent almost three years on Live Desk at 4, 5, and 11 PM, and also did newscasts on weekends. His first broadcasting job was at CBS News, where he worked as a weekend news intern for a few months before getting a job at KVHC 15 in August 2008.
While there, Chesky coordinated content for daily newscasts in the Hill Country region. After five months localizing national stories KVHC 15, he took a job at KLTV, where he covered major stories including the Amora Carson murder trial and Church arsons.
