Nicea DeGering is an American journalist and television host. Currently, she serves as a host of the Emmy Award-winning ABC4 morning show, Good Things Utah. Nicea also anchors ABC4’s entertainment news on Midday at noon.
After growing up in Orem and graduating from BYU in Communications Broadcast/Journalism, Nicea became the Crime Reporter at ABC4 at the age of 23. She covered the Salt Lake City tornado response, security during the 2002 Winter Olympics, and Elizabeth Smart’s disappearance over the next several years.
Nicea produced special reports on the gang movement from Las Vegas to Utah, as well as taking viewers inside the FBI’s Quantico headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. She anchored the ABC4 Weekend news and early mornings on AM Express.
When Good Things Utah debuted in October of 2002, Nicea moved from the news desk to entertainment. As one of the original hosts, she’s interviewed everyone from the most recent Bachelorette to Mitt Romney, Garth Brooks, and all the inspiring everyday Utahns in between.
